Who ate all the Nutella?

My hubby heads straight to the pantry after work everyday to the chocolate shelf!
Yes! We have a chocolate shelf in our pantry:)
I am sure there is a support group for this kind of thing but I don't have time to go to therapy, he is a chocolate addict (I am in denial) AND
this is cheaper and is surely a more pleasant experience!

One day he opened the jar in question and asked "Who ate all the Nutella?"

Now I have been taught to be honest, I pride myself on being honest BUT this was one of those moments that define character...
........and I failed!
I was like the Grinch...who thought up a lie and thought it up quick!
Luckily for me the children had been visiting the week before and so with a straight face I shrugged my shoulders and said...
"I guess the children did."
He never questioned my answer, maybe because he trusts me
OR
he knows the truth, and like any good husband doesn't dare mess with his wife's eating habits!

I have been much more careful about the Nutella now...
WE have a jar on the chocolate shelf, and I have a jar somewhere else:)

p.s. I am working on my honesty issues:)

Put away the Christmas wreath please!

I went to my sweet daughter's apartment for a visit and she still had her Christmas wreath on the door.
In her defense...she is in her final semester at college..YEA!...has an active 16 month old Annabelle, and feeds her hubby Travis with yummy amazing meals. So...I offered to make a trip to Michaels for new spring flowers and a wreath. We had a lovely time wandering around Michaels picking out flowers. Brittany is in love with bright green! Annabelle unloaded the flower containers if we forgot to put the buggy out of reach, and she had a stand off with Grammie over throwing an Easter basket out of the cart:)

Home we go, the glue gun comes out and I get to work.
It seems like we always do some sort of craft or project when I visit!
Brittany chose cabbage roses, tiger lilies, tulips and fun coral berries.

I love this color combination, it is bright and cheerful
just like their little family:)

The only thing I am left wondering is...
Did Brittany leave her Christmas wreath
on the door just for my visit?;)

p.s. Brittany has a blog with some of those yummy meals:)

Lucky

How in the world did a 18 year old girl from a small town in east Texas come to marry a British guy from half way around the world?
And a very cute British guy...there aren't that many:)
Luck?
Maybe...or more likely divine intervention!
The story involves a blind date, engagement within 6 weeks, being separated for the engagement, a notebook of letters from England, passion & a very long prayer:)

Today I am celebrating my lucky blessing...my Michael.

Happy St. Paddy's day:)

I spied a wee leprechaun...

My son Aaron was a really funny kid!

He wrote some hilarious papers that I cannot part with and so they have become part of my holiday albums. You can scan in such writings and drawings to use them as picture size but I prefer to have them their original size. Original writings and drawings from all of my children go in my holiday and event albums which I always display my during the holiday week. What have you done with your children's artwork?

*notice the bottom left corner...the leprechaun cage and Aaron is the big leprechaun:)

Another year...he is such a boy!...who is glad when the bugs come back in spring? not me!

(These are actually scanned in together as one but the blog won't allow that size)

p.s. I can't wait for the day when I can cuddle on the couch with his baby daughter Savannah and laugh with her about her daddy:)
p.p.s. I have a feeling she will be just as funny!

Hope

I love Spring!
I love the new bright green leaves on the trees, my flower bulbs peeking through the dirt, and the delicate blooms on my tulip magnolia tree.
I even love pulling weeds in the spring! Summer brings sweltering heat and humidity and with it a whole different crop of super weeds hard to manage.
Spring is happy and cheerful, bringing the promise of all things new.
I looked at these spring photos from 2007 and one word came to mind...Hope!

Shalom Ya'll

My youngest daughter Danielle is in Jerusalem for a semester abroad at the BYU Jerusalem center. She absolutely loves it! I thought some of you may want to follow her blog posts about her experiences there.

Find the Rainbow...an Irish blessing

My mom loves to decorate for the holidays!
This year she left up one of her Christmas trees to decorate for each holiday and season.
She already has a decorating plan for the whole year!
This is the Irish tree:)

Mom uses this plate from pampered chef for all occasions.
You simply add ribbon and cling-able embellishments.
She also has a book for every occasion:)

I keep thinking about the phrase "Find the Rainbow"...so many possible meanings,
so many opportunities, so much hope. I am going to try and see the rainbow in life just a bit more.
Rainbows are a miracle, they are a promise from God. Sometimes it may be hard to find a rainbow in the midst of  one of life's storms....just remember the rainbow only comes AFTER the storm!
So.....rainbows are really mercies and blessings from heaven:)

I leave you with an Irish blessing...

“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”

p.s. Thanks mom for always making our holidays fun! Thanks for all the quotes and inspiration.

This is a great free printable called "Will we have rainbows"
