Old ladder back chair...a make over

It was only 5 dollars at a garage sale. How could I resist:) This vintage chair was originally brown with a sad old gingham chair cover. Brittany painted it pink for me and then it sat...and sat...and sat for months in my craft room waiting to be finished. Finally the day came.

Painted pink with original gingham seat cover, waiting for a make over!
The day the chair had a make over was the first day Brittany and I actually worked in our craft room together. Once the girls joined us after nap time it became a bit harder to get things done:)
FYI- sticky back foam shapes are the best thing ever for kids!

Brittany was working on blessing day layouts for her girls...trying to catch up before the 3rd little blondie gets here!

Recovering chairs is simple...just wrap the top super tight folding the corners like a present. Work from the middle on one side at a time adding staples along the edges. A cheerful daisy fabric became the new seat cover but even then it needed more...so I added bits of vintage lace from Aunt Betty and fabric scraps around the edge on the bottom of the seat using hot glue.

Hubby attached the chair with wood screws and Viola...a chair to love:)

I am now looking around for more things to "skirt" with lace and fabric scraps!
