Boogie Fever...my 50th birthday album!

Yes I am behind....yes I will always be behind! Never mind...at least I have fun when I do get to scrapbook:) I turned 50 in January of 2014 and this birthday was a boogie fever- disco- get down on it party! In the spirit of the 70's disco days this album in colorful and a bit funky. I designed a "One Event/One Album" style with every page begin basically the same, as I do with all of my events.
Turn on the BeeGee's and enjoy the disco fever in my album:)
My friend Steve and I are only 6 weeks apart so I thought it would be super fun to combine our 50th birthdays with a disco party. Steve and I grew up together as best buddies. It worked...I am feisty, he is always happy. He let me boss him around, I listened to his advice. He was the sweetest friend a girl could have:) We both loved to dance and attend our church sponsored monthly teenage dances. We went on countless double dates, proms, and parties as a team. He will always have a piece of my childhood heart:)

I began the page design with actual decorations from the party. These globes were hanging in sets with fishing line. I simply cut them apart and adhered them to the page.

Never one to under embellish, I added a favorite Martha Stewart border punch on top of the globes.
Purple ribbon then was added to the middle of the border.

I cropped many of the pictures to 4x4 and added mats of purple and pink to all of the photos. The color and design inspiration came from the scarf you will see in the photos below. After doing the top page border I laid out the pages on my bed to add pictures (before adhereing) and then add embellishments. This allows me to see the whole project as I am working on it.

The Boogie and Disco words were found on circuit design space. All of the other titles (70's trivia, speech, ymca, cool dude) on the pages were cut on the cricut with gold mirror cardstock using the
"3 Birds Lif" font.

You can't have a party without themed photo props...these pictures are my favorites:)

My hubby Michael and son-in-law Travis are hilarious in disco props!

Me & Steve...boogie down!

I found this chevron album by Me & My Big Ideas and added purple wash tape to tie in the album pages. I like albums with picture frames on the front for immediate album recognition.

I would love to have another disco party some time...for weeks I listened to the BeeGee's "disco-ing" around my house when no one was home:)
