Kimberly's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip cookies are a fixture in our family!
Many years ago when Michael was in med school our good friends were given the Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookie recipe. It was our number one cookie recipe for years.
I have changed and tweaked it to our taste... so now its mine:)

Kimberly's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks of softened butter
1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
3 tsp vanilla (Mexican is my favorite!)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp backing soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 cups quick oats
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375*
Cream softened butter and brown sugar
Mix in eggs, vanilla, baking powder, soda, & salt
Stir in flour, then hand stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips.

Bake 6-7 minutes
We prefer "not quite done" cookies.
Experiment with no more than 1 added minute at a time to find your perfect cookie!

p.s. Yes we eat cookie dough. Yes, even with eggs...hasn't killed us yet:)
p.p.s My all time favorite person to make cookies son Aaron! It's the most direct route to his appreciation and love:)
Who do you love baking for???

  1. Delicious! I'm full from a wonderful dinner at J Wilson, but the cookies still look yum.

We are having a great time already. Nellie's is super cute!
